WELCOME TO THE PTA WEBPAGE

 

A little bit of background:

The PTA is an active body with the following objectives:
*  Raise additional funds to assist the school in obtaining equipment and materials
*  Organise fund raising events to achieve the above
*  Organise social events to further good relations between parents, teachers and the local community
*   Provide a discussion forum for parents and teachers to raise concerns about the school or to suggest ideas to improve/change the school environment

Other than the Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer, there is no formal committee. All teachers and parents are welcome to attend meetings, which are generally held every six weeks or so in the West Barns Inn (Tuesday 7.30 pm).  Bring a friend !  For your info, the minutes of every PTA meeting will be included in this webpage.

In the 2005/6 school year, we have organised the following events:
 

* Provided wine and a raffle prize for the school Xmas production (Santa's Setback)
* Christmas Fayre (an excellent year - over £1,000 was raised)
* Valentine's Disco
* Quiz Night (excellent contribution from the PTA team and Mrs Wharton)
 

Thanks to all the money raised, we have also acquired 60 folding chairs to be used at our further successful events and a bowling mat,bowls, mat and jack ! !

WEST BARNS SCHOOL LOTTERY

We are looking for more contributors towards this great cause ! For £12 a year, you could be a lottery winner. If in doubt, please speak to our treasurer, Tracey Binning.
 

MENTAL MATHS

We need more volunteers please !!! Friday mornings from 9 am 'til approx. 10 am...
